ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Robinson Cano delivered the biggest hit of the day for the Seattle Mariners, but not before a perfectly executed drag bunt set up things against one of the best pitchers in baseball. James Jones went 3 for 4, including a bunt single that wound up in the middle of three converging players and loaded the bases for Cano, whose third-inning, opposite-field double drove in two runs in Mondays 3-0 victory over David Price and the sputtering Tampa Bay Rays. "Were a team that has to do anything to win a game," Cano said. "We dont have three or four or five guys thatll hit 30 home runs, so weve got to play the little game, do the little things." Five Seattle pitchers combined on a five-hitter, blanking the punchless Rays for the second straight days. The Mariners extended their scoreless streak to 19 innings and won for the eighth time in nine games. "Our last seven or eight starts have been pretty darn good. Our starters have given us everything weve asked them and probably a little bit more," manager Lloyd McClendon said. "With that our bullpen is even better." The Rays, whove made the playoffs four or the past six seasons, have lost 13 of 14 and are saddled with the worst record in the major leagues at 24-41. The last time they were 17 games under .500 was the end of 2007, the final year they were known as the Devil Rays. "Right now, were the worst team. I dont anticipate finishing like that ... but right now, weve earned that position," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "Do I believe we can turn this around? Absolutely," he said. "But right now, if youre a baseball fan watching us, and you look at everything, you have to consider us the worst team." Canos big hit came on an 0-2 pitch during a three-run third inning against Price (4-6), who struck out 10 in eight innings. The 2012 AL Cy Young Award winner has dropped three straight decisions and hasnt won in nine starts since beating Minnesota on April 22. "It just goes to show you how good this guy is," McClendon said of Cano. "Against one of the toughest lefties in baseball and down like that. ... That was a huge hit for us." Mariners starter Erasmo Ramirez didnt allow a run, but failed to get through the fifth inning to qualify for the victory. The 24-year-old right-hander allowed four hits and walked five in 4 2/3 innings. Joe Beimel (1-1) retired the only two batters he faced to get the victory, and Fernando Rodney worked a perfect ninth for his 18th save in 20 opportunities. The Rays were shut out for the AL-high ninth time overall. Seattle finished a 6-1 road trip. The Mariners won three straight over Tampa Bay after dropping the opener of the four-game series. Price allowed three runs and seven hits and walked one. He has the best strikeout to walk ratio in baseball, but has also yielded a major league-leading 105 hits 99 2/3 innings. The Rays stranded seven runners and were 0 for 5 with men in scoring position through four innings against Ramirez, who entered the game with a 6.82 ERA. The frustration continued in the fifth, when Ramirez gave up a two-out double to James Loney and walked Ben Zobrist before McClendon turned to his bullpen. Beimel fanned pinch-hitter Jerry Sands, ending the threat and eliciting smattering of groans and boos from the crowd of 10,400 at Tropicana Field. "At some point, we have to get our bats alive," Maddon said. "The effort is wonderful. The work is great," the manager added. "The hits arent there." NOTES: Struggling Grant Balfour is out as the Rays closer. Maddon said the team instead will close games by committee. ... Mariners 1B Justin Smoak (sore left leg) and OF Michael Saunders (sore right shoulder) were out of the starting lineup for the third consecutive game. ... Rays rookie right-hander Jake Odorizzi (2-6) will go against St. Louis ace Adam Wainwright (8-3) in the opener of a two-game interleague series Tuesday night. Odorizzi grew up 35 minutes from St. Louis and called his start against the Cardinals a "special occasion." ... Although the players lawsuits accused the NFL of concealing known concussion risks, there would be no blame assessed as part of the settlement, and no punitive damages for pain and suffering. "Mr. Seaus children have their own claims for the wrong the NFL did to them. His children are not suing for their fathers pain and suffering, they are suing for their own," lawyer Steven M. Strauss wrote in a court filing Friday that signalled the familys intent to pursue an individual lawsuit. Other potential critics to the settlement reached by players lawyers and the league are also starting to emerge — and the judge overseeing the case has herself expressed doubts the sum is big enough. About 50 plaintiffs lawyers met in New York last week to learn more about the settlement from the lead lawyers, but some left dissatisfied. "This could be a great settlement, this could be a terrible settlement, but I dont know," said Chicago lawyer Thomas A. Demetrio, who represents 10 players, including the family of the late Dave Duerson, a four-time Pro Bowler who mostly played with the Chicago Bears. Duerson fatally shot himself in the chest, leaving his brain intact for autopsy. Like Seau, he was diagnosed with CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy. An honours graduate and trustee of the University of Notre Dame, he was 50 when he died, which would factor into his familys payout. "His estate will receive $2.2 million. Thats not adequate," Demetrio said. U.S. District Judge Anita Brody, who must weigh the deal, also wants more actuarial details than filed with the settlement papers. She preliminarily rejected the plan last month, questioning whether $765 million will be enouugh to fund about 20,000 claims involved for 65 years, as promised.dddddddddddd The architects of the plan argue that the players could end up with nothing if the lawsuits are thrown out of court. The NFL had argued that the claims belonged in arbitration. The retirees would also have to prove their injuries came from NFL concussions, and not those suffered earlier. "The retired player community has provided overwhelming support for this agreement, and we look forward to finalizing it soon so they can begin taking advantage of its benefits," lead lawyers Christopher Seeger and Sol Weiss said in a statement Monday that recognized the work of other lawyers on the case. The NFL settlement, if approved in court, would be capped at $4 million on behalf of players diagnosed after their deaths with traumatic brain injury. The payments could go as high as $5 million for younger men with Alzheimers disease, but many more plaintiffs with mild dementia would get $25,000 or less under the deal. Demetrio wants to know how much of the NFLs payment will come from insurance, and why the lawyers would split another $112 million, when the case did not reach discovery or trial. The NFLs annual revenues top $9 billion. "Its very, very unusual ... for all the plaintiffs to not know whats going on," Demetrio said. "Theyre acting like the Lone Ranger." The Seau Family, meanwhile, is also concerned that the deal calls for a stay on individual suits until all appeals are finalized with the settlement. "Junior Seaus children could be forced to wait years for justice, while the NFL continues to make billions of dollars and the memories of witnesses grow ever more distant," the filing said. The NFL, which on Monday joined two U.S. lawmakers in pushing for legislation to help protect student athletes from concussions, declined comment Monday on the Seau familys objections. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Put this in the scouting report on Syracuses Tyler Ennis: He can score, too. Ennis, the freshman point guard who would rather pass than shoot, scored 16 points, including two driving layups and two free throws in the final 2 minutes, and the second-ranked Orange rallied past No. 22 Pittsburgh 59-54 on Saturday in a battle for first place in the ACC between the two former Big East rivals. Syracuse (18-0, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) fell behind 52-49 with 4:31 to go on two free throws by Lamar Patterson, who had rallied the Panthers from a 10-point deficit. Ennis hit a scooping layup to give Syracuse a 53-52 lead with 1:47 left and the Orange held it to the end. "I pretty much had to make a play," said Ennis, who had three assists with one turnover. "I think they broke down defensively. They dont usually do that too often. I didnt even get to the basket all the way the whole game. Luckily, I did at the end." Twice. In a seesaw game that was tight all the way, Ennis took advantage again of his driving ability after Patterson and Cameron Wright missed 3-pointers on the same possession with just over a minute to go. Encouraged by coach Jim Boeheim to take more shots, Ennis hit a lefty layup with 30.6 seconds to go as the crowd of 30,046 shook the Carrier Dome with deafening roars. "He made some of the best plays that Ive seen in a long time," Boeheim said. "You dont get to the basket against Pittsburgh for two layups. He won the game for us down the stretch. We opened it up and we like to give him the opportunity in those situations. We were trying to give him an opportunity so he could get to the basket, and he has a knack for doing it thats just about as good as anybody Ive ever seen." Syracuse entered the game 2-0 against former Big East rivals, with victories over St. Johns and Villanova. The Orange made it three straight and remained one of only three unbeatens in Division I. "Thats what it comes down to -- finishing and stopping them," said Patterson, who missed what would have been a game-tying 3 with 5 seconds left. "We win the game if we do." In four of the past five seasons, Syracuse has started with at least 13 consecutive wins, and twice in the last four years Pitt (16-2, 4-1) had stopped those streaks. Pitt shot 38.3 per cent (18 of 47) and Syracuse finished at 51.2 per cent (21 of 41) in a very efficient game offensively. The Panthers dominated the offensive glass 16-4, outscoring the Orange 19-2 on second-chance points, but they missed a lot of chances underneath and paid for it in the end. "We got a couple of good shots," Pitt coach Jamie Dixon said. "We just didnt make them. We need to finish better around the basket. Theyre good, but we felt we should have won the game." C.J. Fair had 13 points, Jerami Grant added 12 and Rakeem Christmas 10 for Syracuse. James Robinson, who leads the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio, had six points, four assists and one turnover for Pitt and Talib Zanna finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. In an 81-74 victory at Georgia Tech on Tuesday night, Pitt won by dominating the glass 38-18. It was the Panthers closest victory of the season, the first 15 coming by an average of 17.8 points. Syracuse, accustomed to close games all season, led by four at halftime and quickly extended it early in the second half. Grants one-handed floater in the lane capped a 7-0 spurt and a 3 by Ennis from the left wing gave Syracuse a 37-27 lead with 14:27 left. Pitt erased most of that in a hurry as Patterson drained three 3-pointers in a 65-second span to narrow the lead to 39-36. He hit two from the wing and on the third he was wide open from the top of the key as Boeheim fumed on the bench. The Panthers entered the game leading the ACC with a 48.8 field goal shooting percentage but found little room to roam inside the Syracuse zone. Pitt shot 37 per cent (9 of 25) and hit just 1 of 7 3-pointers in the first half. It was Pitts second game without sixth man Durand Johnson, who sustained a season-ending injury to his right knee in last Saturdays victory over Wake Forest. The sophomore forward was blossoming as the first man off the bench, averaging 8.8 points and ranking second on the team with 22 3-pointers. In 2009-10, Syracuse won its first 13 games, then lost 82-72 to unranked Pitt in the Carrier Dome. The next season Syracuse won its first 18 games before the Panthers stopped that streak with a 74-66 win in Pittsburgh. Under Dixon, Pitt entered the game 10-4 against Syracuse, 5-1 in the Carrier Dome. D.J. Swearinger Jersey . PORTLAND, Ore. -- There is something about returning to Portland that brings the best out of Memphis forward Zach Randolph. Randolph did another number on his former team Tuesday night, finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies to a 98-81 victory over the Trail Blazers. Mike Conley had 19 points and seven assists, and Marc Gasol added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Grizzlies (23-20), who won their third straight and seventh in eight games. LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 27 points and 16 rebounds as the Blazers (33-13) suffered their most lopsided defeat of the season. Portland registered a season low for points scored and had their home winning streak snapped at five games. Randolph registered his 27th double-double of the season as a franchise record-setting 190th for the Grizzlies, who never trailed. Portland fell to 18-5 at home. Randolph, who played his first six seasons with the Blazers, averaged 22.7 points on 52.9 per cent shooting in seven previous visits. "Its always fun to come back," said Randolph, who scored 13 of his 23 points in the first half as the Grizzlies opened a 61-46 lead. "This is where I started, man. Thats just the kind of player that I am." The Grizzlies, picking up where they had left off in Saturdays 99-81 home win over Houston, shot 58.3 per cent in the first quarter against the Blazers and jumped in front 31-22 behind Randolphs 11 points. "It was important for us to get off to a fast start and we did," Randolph said. "We had great offence during the game, but our defence was the key." The Grizzlies held Portland, averaging a NBA-leading 109 points a game, to 34.5 per cent shooting two nights after the Blazers shot a season-low 33.7 per cent in a 103-88 loss at Golden State. "Memphis saw blood and they lunged at our jugular," Blazers centre Robin Lopez said. "I really think we kind of slashed our own throat in a way, which kind of let them run away with it." Aldridge was 6 of 7 in the first quarter and Nicholas Batum converted a three-point play that pulled Portland within 24-22, but Memphis outscored the Blazers 7-0 over the final 2:20 of the period to open a nine-point cushion. "We were in attack mode on booth ends of the floor," Grizzlies coach David Joerger said.dddddddddddd "Most of the night, we were the aggressors." Memphis connected four times from 3-point range in the second quarter, including one by Courtney Lee that extended the lead to 57-39 with 3:39 to play in the half. Damian Lillard connected from 3 for Portland to start the fourth quarter, sparking a 23-13 run that cut the deficit to 94-81 with 2:27 to play. "It was a disappointing game, needless to say," said Blazers coach Terry Stotts, whose team was playing its ninth game in 14 nights. "We got off to a slow start. We caught a team thats trying to put it together. Theyre on a roll and theyre playing very well. They showed that in the first half." Lillard finished with 16 points, Lopez had 14, and Batum 10 for the Blazers. "Were in a rough patch right now," Lillard said. "Were not shooting the ball very well and weve got to defend better. Weve played so well, we were due for a rough patch and a little bit of adversity." The Grizzlies remain in fourth place in the Southwest Division but are gaining ground. "Were getting our chemistry right," Randolph said. "I dont want to say were right there or that were hitting our peak, but its coming. As long as we keep working hard and playing 48 minutes, we give ourselves a chance to compete with anybody." NOTES: Aldridge recorded his 22nd game with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, second most in the league behind Minnesotas Kevin Love (26). . With his 15th point Tuesday, Aldridge passed Cliff Robinson for third among Portlands all-time leading scorers with 10,406 points. Aldridges 27 point brought his career total to 10,418. . Memphis guard Tony Allen, whose last appearance was on Jan. 3 at Denver, was not in uniform and missed his 11th consecutive game with a sprained left wrist. Allen was averaging 10.2 points and 3.9 rebounds at the time of his injury. . Randolph went into Tuesdays game with 384 career double-doubles, ranking eighth among active players. . Randolph won the 2003-04 NBA Most Improved Player Award while in Portland and was the only player in club history to lead the team in scoring and rebounding in four consecutive seasons. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

Rick Nash scored for the fifth straight game, and the New York Rangers used a four-goal second period to take the lead for good. The Devils led 1-0 and 3-1 in the first, but New York got within one before intermission and then swarmed future Hall of Fame goalie Martin Brodeur. After Dominic Moore and Marc Staal had goals in the first for the Rangers, Mats Zuccarello scored two straight to put New York ahead for the first time. Carl Hagelin and Nash found the net, too, behind the beleaguered Brodeur, who angrily swatted the puck away after one of the tallies. Nash has seven goals in his streak and 18 this season. A day after the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks played in 60-degree weather at Dodger Stadium, the NHL returned to conditions more fitting for hockey. Lundqvist, who sported stylish pinstriped pads for the occasion, stumbled through a difficult first but settled down and made 19 saves. He hadnt allowed more than two goals in his previous seven outings. The Devils took care of that in the first. Jaromir Jagr had two assists to excite the large number of New Jersey fans who made the trek to the Bronx for what was nominally a Devils home game. The teams played through the second period as the snow started and increased in intensity, not long after they were forced to wait around an extra hour to drop the pick because of bright sunshine that created a dangerous glare on the ice. The temperature was 24.9 degrees when the first puck dropped at 1:41 p.m. in front of a sellout crowd of 50,105. Yankee Stadiums second hockey game will take place on Wednesday night when the Rangers will again be the road team in a matchup with the New York Islanders. Zuccarello tied it 3-3 at 2:48 of the second when he redirected in a pass from John Moore, and put New York in front at the end of a three-on-one rush with 7:16 left. Benoit Pouliot chipped the puck ahead at centre ice to Derick Brassard, who sent a pass from the right side to Zuccarello for his 15th goal. Hagelin made it 5-3 just 1:09 later when he flipped a shot from the right circle that appeared to hit Devils defenceman Marek Zidlicky before getting through Brad Richards screen and by Brodeur.dddddddddddd. The Devils netminder was again victimized by an odd-man attack that Nash finished with 28.5 seconds left in the middle frame. Brodeur was serenaded with derisive chants of "Mar-ty ... Mar-ty" as Rangers fans in the stands made their voices heard. He watched the rest of the game from the bench, as Cory Schneider replaced him to start the third. Brodeur allowed six goals on 21 shots. Schneider gave up Derek Stepans penalty-shot goal with 9:54 remaining. The seven goals matched the Rangers season high. The Devils grabbed a 1-0 lead 5:36 in when Elias took a pass from Ryane Clowe at the Rangers blue line and came in alone. He snapped a shot that beat Lundqvist inside the left post. The early edge was short-lived as Moore tied it at 9:07 with his fourth goal. Moore got to a loose puck off a rebound of defenceman Anton Stralmans shot and flipped the puck into the net at the right post. But Elias struck again just 22 seconds into New Jerseys second power play, with help from Czech Republic Olympic teammate Jagr, and put the Devils back in front with 9:00 minutes left with his ninth goal. Jagr rushed the puck toward the net at the left post, and got Lundqvist to go down. But instead of shooting, Jagr found Elias driving to the net and fed him a perfect pass for a goal from the top of the crease. That pushed Jagr past former Pittsburgh Penguins teammate Mario Lemieux for 10th place in the NHL career assist list. Jagr had tied Lemieux on Friday against Washington with another two-assist performance. Jagr notched assist No. 1,035 when Zajac made it 3-1 with 3:53 left in the first. Mark Fayne fired a drive that struck Jagr in front and bounded toward Zajac, who got the puck in front of the crease and scored his eighth goal. The Rangers got back within one when Staal turned a faceoff win in the Devils zone into a score when his shot squeezed in between Brodeurs pads with 3:01 remaining. It was Staals third of the season. NOTES: Schneider is 5-1-2 with a 0.96 goals-against average and .961 save percentage in his last eight starts, dating to Dec. 28. Brodeur had played in only two of New Jerseys previous eight games. ... New Jersey had won two straight. New York snapped a two-game losing streak. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

You can listen to the game live on TSN 1050 starting at 7:30pm et/4:30 pm pt.It was a where were you when moment. A day when Brazilian football crumbled. A day when they were embarrassed on the largest stage of all, in front of 200 million of their closest friends. The writing was on the wall very early. It was a ridiculously open game from kick off. In the 4th minute, Miroslav Klose picked up the ball and Thomas Muller was all alone on the right side. Klose didnt make the pass and the Bayern man was fuming. Two more chances followed, both via Muller open on the right, but Germany were still better even at 0-0. Then it came. Fittingly, from a set piece. It will be forgotten about by many – four goals scored in six minutes will do that to you – but when Muller volleyed home a Toni Kroos corner it changed the mindset of both teams. Here was this Germany team, ready to finally get over a significant hurdle, not wanting to wait a long time to insert their dominance. On the other side stood a Brazilian team high on energy, but clearly fragile. A team, and a nation, that had drowned themselves in self pity for four days. Fifteen minutes before Muller opened the scoring, the host nation had sung their heart out for the national anthem holding up the jersey of Neymar as if he was inside an intensive care unit. Germany, the kings of mental toughness, will have seen that as a weakness even before a ball was kicked. In the buildup to the match, observers had wondered if Brazil had crossed the narrow line between a rallying, motivational tool and having a complete, utter obsession with it. When Germany opened the scoring, we got our answer. Following the winning goal against France, via Mats Hummels from a Toni Kroos corner, Joachim Low spoke about how he had learned to rely more on set play moves. Bastian Schweinsteiger had spoke about Bayern Munichs Pep Guardiolas obsession with them. Germany, after all, should know more than most about them. 2010 World Cup semifinal, Durban, South Africa as told by Xavi: "At half-time, Puyol said we had taken three or four corners already and said if you put it near the penalty spot, then we could cause problems." In the 73rd minute at Durban that day, Xavi produced another stunning assist in a major game, and Puyol did exactly what he said. 1-0 Spain. Another victory won by their brilliance on and off the pitch. 2012 Champions League final, Munich. Bayern Munich leading 1-0 against Chelsea. Then Didier Drogba scores on Chelseas first corner of the entire game before winning on penalties. The image of Schweinsteiger shaking on the penalty spot less than an hour later was a very disturbing image for German football. It was an image of a loser. Germany knew Schweinsteiger, and the rest of the golden generation the last decade has produced, were better than that. A year later at Wembley, many of thee core group of Lows team became winners; winners that arrived in Brazil knowing they had to put it together on the national stage.dddddddddddd A game against hosts Brazil in the World Cup, with or without their best players, certainly wouldnt have overawed this group. The dominance started from the delivery of Kroos. David Luiz lost Muller and the Bayern man knew exactly where his teammate would put the corner. Brazil were behind. It was a scenario that would seriously test a team playing with heavy hearts for their striker, who will likely be playing for Barcelona in two months. David Luiz was at it again soon after. And so was Kroos. Fernandinho guessed incorrectly on a run to get the ball, Kroos found Muller whose brilliant move with Miroslav Klose left Luiz standing still. Incredibly, he stood and watched his marker make it 2-0 and break Ronaldos record. What happened next was absolutely disgraceful for the hosts. Yes, Germany were ruthless, inspired by the magnificent duo of Kroos and Sami Khedira, but Brazils display was pathetic. Three goals in 179 seconds stunned the world. 4-0. Then 5-0 after less than 30 minutes. Brazil were done. They are forced to play another match at this World Cup but they will be best served to start as many players as they can who didnt suffer this footballing massacre. In truth, it will be hard for their professional careers to ever get over this. In the end, the game showed us what frauds they were at this tournament. Average against Croatia, they needed a terrible refereeing decision to get them a victory on the tournaments first day. Against Mexico, they were not much better and the moment Cameroon raised concerns over Dani Alves, Marcelo and David Luiz (three-quarters of the back four!), it was clear they needed to be much better to win the World Cup. Chile and Colombia ran them close but they never came up across a team that had as much quality and big game experience as this German team. It is one thing to be beaten by a much stronger, talented team, it is quite another to crumble and play with pity. Throughout the demolition, Brazil never once showed an emotion as strong as they did while holding up Neymars shirt. Not even in anger. As for Germany, it is a victory that will make them all-time greats, providing they complete the job on Sunday. We have been waiting for true greatness to step up at this World Cup. The Brazilian collapse will hit the headlines today but if Germany lifts the trophy inside the Maracana on Sunday, they will go down as a very special team indeed: a team that made history by completing the biggest victory in World Cup semi final history. Brazil should be remembered for being pathetic but to win a semifinal 7-1 is an incredible achievement. We should not forget just how good Germany played. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

Dayton, OH - The 2014 NCAA Tournament tips off tonight at the University of Dayton Arena, as No. 16 seeds the Albany Great Danes and the Mount St. Marys Mountaineers face off in South Regions first round, with the winner advancing to play No. 1 seed Florida on Thursday. In the Midwest Region of the bracket, the ACCs NC State Wolfpack and Big Easts Xavier Musketeers will battle it out for the vacant position at UD Arena in Dayton. The winner advances through the first round and will clash with the fifth- seeded Saint Louis Billikens. You can watch live streaming coverage of both games tonight beginning at 6:40pm et/3:40pm pt,  exclusively on TSN GO. Albany finished the regular season in fourth place in the American East Conference, but it blazed through the conference tournament with three straight wins, beating both top-seeded Vermont (67-58 in the semifinals) and second-seeded Stony Brook (69-60 in the championship) en route to the automatic bid. The Great Danes have played in the NCAA Tournament three previous times (2006, 2007, 2013) but have yet to earn a win. Mount Saint Marys also played the spoiler in its conference tournament. After entering the Northeast Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed at just 13-16 overall, it pieced together three straight wins over St. Francis-Brooklyn (72-71), Wagner (77-72) and Robert Morris (88-71). The Mountaineers have also qualified for the Big Dance on three other occasions, having previously defeated Coppin State in the 2008 play-in game (69-60) before losing to top- seeded North Carolina (113-74). This marks the first-ever meeting between Albany and Mount St. Marys on the hardwood. The Great Danes lost control of a halftime lead in the America East Tournament title game but finished the game on a 23-8 run over the final 6:47 to punch their ticket. Sam Rowley led the way with 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field. DJ Evans and Peter Hooley netted 16 and 15 points, respectively, while Gary Johnson tallied eight points and 10 rebounds. Scoring points hasnt been Albanys speciality this season, as it scores a mere 66.0 ppg on less than 44 percent shooting from the field, but it has excelled on the defensive end of the floor in yielding just 63.8 ppg on 41.9 percent shooting. Hooley pours in a team-best 15.7 ppg on 69-of-172 shooting from beyond the arc (.401). Rowley (11.5 ppg, 6.7 rpg) is a mainstay in the paint, while Evans (11.2 ppg) and Johnson (10.9 ppg) have also been solid. The Mountaineers made easy work of Robert Morris in the NEC championship bout, running out to a commanding 16-point lead at intermission before cruising to the easy double-digit victory. They shot a blistering 60.4 percent from the field in the triumph and had five players register in double figures, paced by Rashad Whacks 20 points. Julian Norfleet had 17 points, Taylor Danaher and Sam Prescott netted 15 apiece and Will Miller scored 11 off the bench. Mount St. Marys plays an opposite style of basketball as Albany, as it rarely has trouble filling up the scoreboard (76.2 ppg) yet leaves itself vulnerable on the defensive end of the court (78.0 ppg). The squad has a dynamic scoring duo in Whack (17.7 ppg) and Norfleet (17.5 ppg), with Norfleet also finding time to dish out 5.4 apg. Prescott rounds out the double-digit scorers by putting up 11.0 ppg. NC State made some waves in the ACC Tournament over the weekend by defeating Miami-Florida and then Syracuse to advance to the conferences semifinal round. The Wolfpack were taken down by Duke, 75-67, and were considered one of the most on-the-fence teams when it came to the tournaments selection. Xavier narrowly edged out Marquette in the Big East Tournaments quarterfinal round, but lost to Creighton, 86-78, in the semifinals. The Musketeers will need to prove their way into the field of 64. This will be the first-ever meeting between NC State and Xavier. Each team has a deep history in the NCAA Tournament, however. The Wolfpack own a 34-21 all-time record in the tournament, and were present in last seasons round of 64. Xavier comes in at 21-23 all-time, and made it to the Sweet 16 back in 2012. NC State and Duke had quite the battle going in Saturdays ACC Tournament semifinal, as the Blue Devils had just a one-point lead over the Wolfpack at the end of the first half. But Dukes defense stepped it up in the second frame by holding the Wolfpack to 35.5 percent shooting from the floor as the Blue Devils ended NC States quest for a conference title. T.J. Warren has been spectacular this season, and is now the programs all-time leader in a single season with 29 20-plus point contests. He had 21 with eight rebounds to lead the Wolfpack against Duke (his 17th consecutive 20-point game), while Lennard Freeman chipped in 13 points with nine boards and Anthony Barber scored 12 in the loss. N.C. State couldnt keep Duke from netting 57.1 percent of the teams shot attempts in the game. Warrens beastly season has led to much acclaim as he could very well enter the NBA after this season, earning ACC Player of the Year. The athletic forward is averaging an astounding 24.8 ppg for the Wolfpack, proving to be the go-to scorer when a basket is needed. He also leads the team with a 7.2 rpg average, and adds 57 steals to his season resume. Ralston Turner is the only other player on the Wolfpack roster to average a double-digit point total, netting 10.2 ppg. Barber tops the squad with 124 assists, and BeeJay Anya leads with 40 blocked shots. NC State averages 70.8 ppg through 33 games played, and gives up 69.5 ppg to opponents. Things looked bad for Xavier early on against Creighton in the Big East Tournament semifinals, as the Bluejays took a 45-33 lead into the intermission. But the Musketeers formed a comeback attempt in the second period, and started to cut into the lead as time went on. However, Creighton, behind the nations leading scorer Doug McDermott and his 32-point effort, was able to fend off Xavier down the stretch. Forward Isaiah Philmore scored a career-high 23 points for Xavier, while Semaj Christon chipped in 18 points with six assists in the loss. Justin Martin added 12 points before he fouled out of the contest. Christon, who has had his name mentioned in NBA talks as well, leads the Musketeers in scoring on the season with a 17.1 ppg average, netting 47.7 percent of his shots from the floor. He adds 138 assists on the year (second to Dee Daviss 147), and leads the team with 44 steals. Martin contributes 11.8 ppg for the Musketeers, and center Matt Stainbrook, who missed some time at the beginning of the conference tournament with a strained calf, adds 10.4 ppg with a team-leading 7.3 rpg mark. Xavier averages 72.2 ppg and allows 67.9 ppg to opponents Rodney Stuckey Pacers Jersey .  The first match will take place on October 25th in Edmonton and will be followed by a second match on October 28th in Vancouver. While the spotlight has been on potential first overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney and his 40-yard time, and top quarterback prospect Blake Bortles during the throwing drills, top prospects Greg Robinson and Sammy Watkins have impressed scouts enough to solidify or even boost their spots on draft boards. TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs stood pat Wednesday, deciding that the cost to make a move on trade deadline day was too much. "We would have been hurting ourselves long-term and we werent prepared to do that," Dave Nonis, Torontos senior vice-president and general manager, told reporters. Nonis, who said he made plenty of calls to test the waters, said the asking prices were high and the talent on offer limited. The sense he got was there might be more movement come the summer. "There wasnt a lot available in general," he said. "I think deals that changed the look of your team seemed to happen at the draft." Nonis acknowledged that his team had been up and down, putting the onus on the Leafs to return to their winning ways before the Olympic break. "If we do, we should be fine. And if we dont, then were going to have some difficulties," he said. "But its not a bad team. I think weve got a good core group. Were very young still." Nonis said he did get trade inquiries, pointing to younger players like rookie defenceman Morgan Rielly -- who turns 20 on Sunday. "Morgan Riellys easy to move today. But it doesnt makes sense to us." He said the team could have got some "pretty good high picks" for some of its players facing unrestricted free agency this summer. One of thoose is forward Dave Bolland, who is recovering from a tendon injury.dddddddddddd There is no time frame on his return, with Nonis saying some movement was still causing him discomfort. "Its going to take however long it takes. Im hopeful and confident that hell be back this year," said Nonis. Bolland had surgery after being checked into the board by Zack Kassian in a 4-0 loss in Vancouver on Nov. 2. Asked about taking on other teams unrestricted free agents via trade, Nonis said either the price was too high or he felt the Leafs already had comparable players. "Why pay a price for nothing? Asked how close the Leafs were to being a Stanley Cup contender, Nonis said the salary cap has changed the NHL landscape so that anyone who gets into the post-season has a chance to win it all. "Are there favourites? No question, Would I put ourselves in as a favourite? No. But I think you saw in the last year we were pretty close to moving on." Toronto, which took Boston to seven games in the first round of last seasons playoffs, was 32-23-8 going into Wednesday nights game in New York against the Rangers. Other Leafs who are eligible to become unrestricted free agents after the season are forwards Nikolai Kulemin, Jay McClement, Mason Raymond and Troy Bodie, and defenceman Paul Ranger. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

SAKHIR, Bahrain -- Mercedes locked out the front row for the Bahrain Grand Prix as Nico Rosberg claimed pole position on Saturday, qualifying ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton. Rosbergs time of 1 minute, 33.185 seconds at the Bahrain International Circuit was a quarter of a second faster than Hamilton, who had to abandon his final flying lap after running wide at the first corner. It was Mercedes third straight pole to start the Formula One season but the first for Rosberg, who equaled his father Keke with five career poles. Rosberg leads the championship on 43 points, 18 ahead of Hamilton. "It has just worked well through the weekend, finding my way, making progress and getting through some issues," Rosberg said. "I have good memories of this track, winning the GP2 championship and starting my first race in F1. I enjoy coming here and again today its suited me." Rosberg and Hamilton have a win each from the opening two races of the season and Mercedes also dominated the three practice sessions leading into qualifying, both in day and night conditions, with Sundays race to be held at night for the first time. The only surprise was Rosberg taking pole ahead of Hamilton, who usually thrives in the one-lap format. "I locked up in the last lap but generally I am happy for the team," Hamilton said. "Nico did a great job and naturally Im happy my teammate is there and not someone else." Defending four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel did not even make the final session of qualifying and will start from 10th on the grid -- promoted one spot as his Red Bull teammate Daniel Ricciardo, who qualified third, gets a 10-place grid penalty from the previous race in Malaysia. Vettel paid the price for a session-ending spin in pre-qualifying practice which prevented him from getting valuable data on how to set up the car on the soft-tire, low-fuel setting. He also complained of a downshifting problem. "The final run for some reason was a bit more difficult, the rears were locking up," Vettel said. "We had been playing around with it for quite a while, we are still not where we want to be but I dont want to blame it on that. There was a little bit more in the car which I couldnt get to, so I am not happy with today." Williams driver Valtteri Bottas and Force Indias Sergio Perez qualified fourth and fifth respectively and, with the one-place promotion, both equaled their best career starting positions. Ferraris Kimi Raikkonen qualified sixth, four places ahead of Fernando Alonso, to take the qualifying honours over his teammate for the first time this season in what is expected to a year-long fight between the two former world champions. Alonso said the car was down on power in the final part of qualifying, though he felt the teams starting grid positions of fifth and ninth were "more or less what we expected to be honest." "Q2 we were down a little bit and Q3 we lost more," Alonso said. "Still, we didnt miss out on the possibility of pole position because we are not in that kind of position. Its just a couple of places that hopefully tomorrow we can recover." McLarens Jenson Button, contesting his 250th grand prix, qualified in seventh and his teammate Kevin Magnussen was ninth, separated by Felipe Massa of Williams. Aside from Vettels early elimination, the main surprise of Q2 was Force Indias Nico Hulkenberg qualifying in 12th, having been fastest of all drivers in Q1 and showing strong pace during the practice sessions. Saubers Adrian Sutil was hit with a five-place grid penalty for impeding Lotus Romain Grosjean in the first session of qualifying, sending him to the very back of the grid. cheap jerseys from china . He will be with the Colorado Rockies next season.HOUSTON -- The Houston Astros wanted to add power to their lineup and a veteran presence to their young team. They think they got both by agreeing to a $2.9 million, one-year contract with Carlos Pena. "We believe he is exactly the kind of player we need in this organization at this time," general manager Jeff Luhnow said Monday. "We think that hes going to be a big contributor for us on the field as well as in the clubhouse next year." Pena will be the Astros designated hitter, addressing a key need as they prepare for their first season in the American League. But Luhnow said Pena could also play first base. "I think he provides some flexibility because hes a left-handed batter who can play a good first base defensively," Luhnow said. "So that gives you some options ... he can still play very good first base, and we expect to see him at first base a little bit." The 34-year-old Pena, who spent last season in his second stint with Tampa Bay, hit .197 with 19 home runs and 61 RBIs in 2012, when he made $7.5 million. In addition to his base salary, he can earn $1.4 million in performance bonuses, $233,333 each for 350, 400, 450, 500, 550 and 600 plate appearances. He has hit below .200 in two of the past three seasons and struck out a career-high 182 times last season. But he also draws a lot of walks -- he had 87 last season -- and has continued to drive in runs despite his dipping averages. "There are so many things that I have to improve," he said. "There are so many things that Ive been so good at, and other things that Ive been challenged with. The game has changed so you adapt and make adjustments ... Im always learning." He said that he had other offers, but felt as if Houston was the right fit for him. "Everything seems so fresh so I wanted to be part of that new identity," he said. "Hopefully as we start creating our new identity and shhaping up our culture, I want to make sure that I do everything I can to start steering it in the right direction.dddddddddddd" Pena had the best seasons of his career in his first stint with the Rays from 2007-2010 when he had at least 100 RBIs in three of those four seasons. His most productive year came in his first with the team when he hit 46 homers with 121 RBIs, both career highs. Pena started his career with the Rangers, and has hit 277 homers with 791 RBIs in a 12-year career that also had stops in Oakland, Detroit, Boston and with the Cubs. He has history with new Houston manager Bo Porter, having played with Porter in spring training when he was in the Rangers minor league system. Hes undaunted by the fact that Houston has lost more than 100 games in each of the past two seasons and isnt expected to contend in its move to the powerful AL West next season. Pena was in a similar situation in Tampa Bay. They Rays had lost 95 and 101 games respectively in the two seasons before he joined the team. They lost 96 in his first season there in 2007 before winning 97 games the next season and reaching the World Series. "It actually was inviting to me," he said of joining a rebuilding team. "Ive been on teams where we were thought to be the worst in baseball at one point and very quickly, sooner than anyone expected, we were in a World Series. So Ive seen things change very quickly. ... I like the challenge that it presents and the potential for growth." Some had speculated that the signing of Pena would eliminate the possibility of the Astros bringing back slugger Lance Berkman. Luhnow said that wasnt the case. "We need to do everything we can to improve this team," Luhnow said. "And if we get to a point where Lance is interested in playing and we find that we can utilize him, which we obviously can if hes healthy, then well have a conversation with him." cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

MONTREAL - The sight of George Parros laid out on the ice cast a long shadow on Tuesday. Parros suffered a concussion early in the third period of the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 home-opener loss to the rival Toronto Maple Leafs after slamming face first into the ice during a fight. Parros was knocked unconscious after a tussle with Colton Orr - their second fight of an unruly game - brought him tumbling to the ice. He fell hard on his chin while attempting to punch Orr, who was tugging at Parros jersey. "Thanks for all the well wishes everyone," said Parros from his verified Twitter account a few hours after the game, adding the hashtag "classyfollowers." The hard-hitting Canadiens forward spent several minutes motionless on the ice, attended to by the teams medical staffs, before being taken off on a stretcher. The Canadiens announced that he was released from hospital on Wednesday morning and is out indefinitely. "You never want to see a guy get hurt like that," said Orr. "It was a scary situation. I just hope hes all right. "It happened fast. I slipped and he came on top of me. The ice isnt going to give." Parros and Orr have a long history. The two have fought each other several times in the past, and Orr was injured in a similar fight with Parros two years ago at Torontos Air Canada Centre. Parros, then with the Anaheim Ducks, landed on Orr, who suffered a concussion and didnt play for the rest of that season. Parros teammates are hoping he will be back with the team soon. "Any time you see a guy go down — no matter what team hes on — its pretty scary," said Canadiens captain Brian Gionta. "Hopefully things are all right, and that hell bounce back quickly. "Its tough. You have a guy whos coming into a new team and he wants to establish himself. He had a good game tonight stepping up for his guys and protecting his guys. You never like to see him go down like that." Shortly after the incident, Torontos Mason Raymond — in his first game with the Leafs — put the game out of Montreals reach, scoring the eventual game-winner. Brendan Gallagher thinks his team didnt react as well as they could have after Parros injury. "Your emotions take you for a little bit of a ride," said Gallagher. "We would have liked to respond better. Its tough to see your teammate down. Were human and we react like humans. "When it happens, its tough. But as soon as the puck drops, you get back to playing. Knowing him and knowing the person he is, hell recover and be in our lineup in no time." Parros injury could reignite the debate about whether fighting has a place in hockey. But Josh Gorges doesnt think it should. "I see more players get hurt from hits, collisions, from pucks, than I do from fights," said Gorges. "I dont think saying because a player got hurt in a fight that now we have to talk about taking fighting away. And I bet that if you ask George (Parros), hell be the first to agree with me on that one too." Parros joined Montreal this summer after one season with the Florida Panthers. Tuesdays game was his first in a Canadiens uniform. Montreals next game is Saturday, Oct. 5, at home against the Philadelphia Flyers. KEARNS, Utah -- South Koreas Lee Sang-hwa broke the world record in the womens 500 metres for the second straight day and third time in eight days, finishing in 36.36 seconds Saturday in a World Cup speedskating meet at the Utah Olympic Oval. The 24-year-old defending Olympic champion broke her own record last Saturday in Calgary, Alberta, with a run of 36.74 and topped it again Friday in Kearns with a 36.57. Lee declined to take to the media after the race. Heather Richardson was second in a U.S.-record 36.90. Olga Fatkulina followed in a Russian-record 37.13. American Shani Davis won the mens 1,000 a day after taking the 1,500. The two-time Olympic champion finished in 1:06.02 in the 1,000. "I know I dont have a lot of my speed yet, but doing a 24.6 lap is really good considering my condition," Davis said. "I just look to improve from this race." The Netherlands Kjeld Nuis followed in 1:07.02, and American Brian Hansen was third in 1:07.03. Davis won in front of his family and friends. "Its always such a great feeling to be able to compete against the world at your best, and do your best, on home soil," he said. Paul Krause Jersey . -- Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin will have minor shoulder surgery soon to address a nagging injury he played with last season. CLEVELAND -- Pat Shurmur brought in a close friend to help him fix Clevelands broken offence. Shurmur hired former Minnesota coach Brad Childress as his first offensive co-ordinator on Friday, reuniting two coaches who spent seven seasons together on Andy Reids staff with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Browns confirmed Childress hiring with a release that did not include any quotes. Childress, who spent nearly five seasons with the Vikings before he was fired in 2010, will try to improve the Browns dismal offence, which scored just 218 points last season, finished 29th in total yardage, 28th in rushing and 24th in passing. Hell also have input in the teams vital decision at starting quarterback. -- a choice that could impact the club for years. The 55-year-old Childress was a logical choice to join the Browns, who went 4-12 in their first season under Shurmur. In addition to being tight with Shurmur, Childress is familiar with the West Coast offence the Browns installed last year and hes represented by agent Bob Lamonte, who also has Shurmur and Browns president Mike Holmgren as clients. Shurmur juggled both head coach and co-ordinator duties during a troublesome first season in Cleveland. Its believed Shurmur will initially call Clevelands plays next season but he intends to turn things over to Childress, who recently interviewed for Tampa Bays head coaching job. Childress has only one season (2006) of experience calling plays. Childress is the third former NFL head coach on Shurmurs staff, joining defensive co-ordinator Dick Jauron and senior defensive assistantt Ray Rhodes.dddddddddddd Childress was Philadelphias offensive co-ordinator from 2003-05 when Shurmur coached the Eagles quarterbacks. While he was with the Eagles, Childress went to three straight NFC title games and the Super Bowl in 2004. Shurmur was asked about Childress during his season-ending news conference on Jan. 3. "I know Brad very well," Shurmur said. "He and I worked together for a long time. Hes a terrific coach." Childress went 39-35 in four-plus seasons with the Vikings, twice leading them to the playoffs and going 1-2. Minnesota won division titles in 2008 and 2009, when the Vikings made it to the NFC title game with quarterback Brett Favre, whom Childress had famously picked up at the airport. But after a 3-7 start in 2010, Childress was fired by owner Zygi Wilf one day after the Vikings were blown out at home by rival Green Bay. The Browns considered hiring an offensive co-ordinator before last season but didnt find a suitable candidate. Holmgren suggested Shurmur maintain play-calling duties to control the offence and build a stronger bond with second-year quarterback Colt McCoy. Shurmur, though, seemed overwhelmed at times as the Browns had some communication breakdowns and time-management issues. The addition of Childress should free up Shurmur during the week as he prepares for games. "I think what it will do is allow me to just step back and look down one some things in some areas that I may be able to contribute more," Shurmur said after the season. "Thats a key piece." cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

HOUSTON -- Matt Dominguez hit an RBI single off the right-field wall in the ninth inning and the Houston Astros beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 Wednesday night to win a series against their in-state rivals for the first time since 2008. After not getting a power play in Carolina, the Jets just had one in this game. “They got some breaks and bounces,” said Maurice post-game. “Proud of our effort through two periods, couldnt make it three. We spent a lot of energy on the four penalty kills. They got better in the third, their “D” got involved. Well leave this game here and move on.” During the break the Jets have planned an outdoor practice that is free to the public at the Forks on Feb. 23. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- Five Rochester Knighthawks arrested in a scuffle at a Minnesota restaurant last week will be eligible to play in Fridays game against Toronto. The National Lacrosse League has resinstated Tyler Burton, Jordan Hall, Travis Hill, Cody Jamieson and Sid Smith. They were all arrested and charged following an altercation at a T.G.I. Fridays in Bloomington, Minn., on Feb. 13. According to media reports, 20 to 30 people were involved in the incident. The league says it has lifted the suspension pending disposition of the criminal charges. All five players sat out last weekends game against Washington. The league says it will determine appropriate discipline once the case is wrapped up in Minnesota. Jamieson is Rochesters top scorer with 38 points. The Knighthawks are third in the NLLs East Division with a 3-4 record. Reggie Miller Jersey . Brandon Triche added 16 points, seven rebounds and two steals for the Orange (17-0, 4-0 Big East), who started 18-0 last season before dropping their first game. C.J. Fair donated 13 points and eight boards for Syracuse, which got 12 points and seven assists from Dion Waiters. Luis Scola Jersey . Barrichello is thrilled to be racing in front of his Brazilian fans for the first time since joining IndyCar, but admits he still is adapting to the series and wont be racing among the leaders on Sunday. http://www.paulgeorgejerseys.com/C-J-Miles-Jersey-db-96/ . Darvish is scheduled to make his season debut Sunday at Tampa Bay after getting through an extended bullpen session without any issues. C.J. Miles Pacers Jersey . Wrights first stint with Milwaukee was on a 10-day contract from March 14-23. He played in two games, averaging six points and two rebounds in 16. Rodney Stuckey Pacers Jersey . The Browns have relaxed their media limitations to see rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel practice.Their season is just four days old, but the Seattle Mariners are off to an impressive 3-1 start. They swept the Angels, then lost a 3-2, 12-inning heartbreaker to the Oakland As on a Coco Crisp walk-off home run. The biggest story in my mind though was the performance of their number three starter James Paxton, in an 8-2 victory over the Halos. He pitched a two-hitter over seven innings and immediately threw himself into the mix for those to watch in the Rookie of the Year race this season. Paxton is a 64", 220-pound lefty who hails from Richmond, BC. Unfortunately for the Blue Jays, hes one that got away. Paxton was originally drafted by the Blue Jays 37th overall in 2009, but he chose not to sign. He intended to return to the University of Kentucky, but was ruled ineligible because he had signed an agreement with agent Scott Boras. Paxton went on to pitch briefly for the Independent Grand Prairie Airhogs of the American Association in 2010. That year he was drafted by the Mariners in the fourth round. With Hisashi Iwakuma and top prospect Taijuan Walker rehabbing from injuries, Paxton may be around for awhile and could be a key part of the Ms resurgence. Seattle has another impressive young lefty in their rotation in Cuban-born lefty Roenis Elias, who pitched well, but got saddled with a no-decision in the Mariners loss to the As. The only question coming into this season was over their ability to score runs, even with the addition of ex-Yankees star Robinson Cano. With this seeming wealth of starting pitching, the Ms may be able to deal for the bats they need as the season unfolds. Cano, by the way, is off to a decent start with Seattle, going 6 for 16 with a pair of intentional walks. Here and Now Theres no sense fretting now over the Jays not getting Paxton. Better to concentrate on the top two pitching prospects they do have. Marcus Stroman started the Buffalo Bisons season opener on Thursday against the Twins Rochester farm club, the Red Wings. He was on a pitch count and over four innings, made 73 pitches - 47 for strikes - gave up four hits and two earned runs, struck out three of the first four batters he faced and got a no decision in the Bisons 6-3 victory. The Bisons are veteran team, with 16 players on their roster who played in the Majors last season. Matt Tuiasosopo, who was just picked up on waivers last week from Arizona and then three days later was outrighted to Buffalo, led the attack with thrree hits.dddddddddddd After Stroman, the rest of the Buffalo rotation consists of Ricky Romero, Kyle Drabek, lefty Sean Nolin, who was briefly with the Jays, and Liam Hendricks. J.A. Happ is expected to join them as well in the near future on a rehab assignment. Bisons closer Neil Wagner, who figures to be up with the Jays at some point this season, struck out three of four batters and racked up the save. Blue Jays blue chip prospect Aaron Sanchez started opening night for Double "A" New Hampshire at Trenton. He was described as being dominant over his five-inning stint, giving up just one hit and striking out five while walking two. He also got the victory in the Fishercats 6-0 victory over Trenton. Fresh Start Emilio Bonifacio, who was a bust with the Blue Jays last season and eventually moved on to the Royals, signed with the Cubs as a free agent and is off to a torrid start at the plate with Chicago. Hes 11 for 16 with four stolen bases on the young season. Hes been batting lead-off and playing centre field. The Cubs - weather permitting - will be marking the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon in their home opener against the Phillies. Great trivia question on Wrigley: name the only person to hit the scoreboard. Heres a clue, it wasnt a ball player. It was golf legend Slammin Sammy Snead. He teed off from homeplate in a publicity stunt and hit the 89 high scoreboard, which was 420 feet away on the fly. On his next try he hit it right over the scoreboard. Wrigley has also hosted two of the wildest games in Major League history. In the highest scoring game ever, the Cubs beat the Phillies 26-23 on August 25, 1922. The Phils got their revenge in 1979, 57 years later, when they edged the Cubs 23-22 in 10 innings. Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt hommered off Cubs closer Bruce Sutter to win it. The teams combined for 11 homers, including three by the Cubbies Dave Kingman.  Roys Return Great move by the Blue Jays to get Roy Halladay to throw out the first pitch for their home opener Friday night at sold-out Rogers Centre against Derek Jeter and the Yankees. It makes you wonder if they will put Halladays name up on the "Level of Excellence" tonight or at some point down the road. The pitching match-up couldnt be more intriguing with the comeback king Dustin McGowan facing Japanese star Masahiro Tanaka, who will be making his first Major League start. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '
